Terms of Service
Last updated: March 2026
Please read these Terms of Service carefully before using MedChime. By downloading the app and tapping “I Understand and Agree” on the welcome screen, you agree to be bound by these terms.
1. What MedChime Is
MedChime is a personal medication reminder application for Android. It helps you organise and remember scheduled medications through notifications and reminders. MedChime is not a medical device, does not provide medical advice, and is not a substitute for professional medical care. It is a personal productivity tool.
2. Medical Disclaimer
MedChime is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any medical condition. Nothing in MedChime constitutes medical advice. Always follow the advice of your doctor, pharmacist, or other qualified healthcare professional regarding your medications, doses, and schedules.
If you believe you have taken the wrong medication or the wrong dose, contact your doctor, pharmacist, or emergency services immediately. Do not rely on this app in an emergency.
3. Reminder Delivery — No Guarantee
MedChime uses Android’s AlarmManager and notification system to deliver reminders. While we take every reasonable step to ensure reliable delivery — including multiple redundancy mechanisms — we cannot guarantee that every reminder will be delivered at the exact scheduled time.
Reminder delivery may be affected by: your device’s battery optimisation settings; manufacturer-specific power management (Samsung, Xiaomi, Huawei, and similar); Android system conditions; the device being powered off or in Do Not Disturb mode; or other factors outside our control.
You acknowledge this limitation and accept that MedChime should not be your sole safeguard for taking critical medications. We strongly recommend maintaining additional reminder methods for any medication where a missed dose could have serious consequences.
4. Your Responsibility
You are responsible for: entering accurate medication names, doses, and schedules into the app; consulting your doctor or pharmacist to verify your medication regimen; physically verifying your medication supply rather than relying solely on the app’s stock counter; and keeping your device charged and configured to receive notifications from MedChime.
If you use MedChime to manage medications on behalf of another person, you accept responsibility for ensuring the information entered is accurate and that the other person (or their guardian) is aware of and consents to the app being used for this purpose. You also accept responsibility for ensuring that reminders and dose logs for each individual are correctly attributed and acted upon.
5. Your Data
All medication data is stored locally on your device. MedChime does not transmit, sell, or share your health information with us or any third party. The only network request MedChime makes is to Google Play Billing when you purchase a Pro upgrade — no health or medication data is included in that transaction. For full details, see our Privacy Policy.
6. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, MedChime and its developer shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including but not limited to: missed medication doses, adverse health events, or other outcomes arising from your use of or reliance on this application.
Where liability cannot be fully excluded by law, our total liability to you shall not exceed the amount you paid for the app (if anything).
7. No Warranties
MedChime is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or uninterrupted operation.
8. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms occasionally. If we make material changes, you will be asked to review and accept the updated Terms when you next open the app. Continued use after accepting constitutes agreement to the revised Terms.
9. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If you are a consumer resident in another jurisdiction, you may also have rights under the laws of that jurisdiction that cannot be excluded.
10. Contact
