Your privacy is fundamental to MedChime’s design. This policy explains clearly what data MedChime collects, what it doesn’t, and why.

## The Short Version
MedChime stores all your medication data locally on your device. We never see it, never collect it, and never transmit it anywhere. The app’s only internet connection is for Google Play Billing when you choose to upgrade to Pro.

## 1. Data We Do NOT Collect
We do not collect: your name, email address, or any account information (there is no account); your medication names, doses, or schedules; your adherence history or dose logs; your location; device identifiers for advertising; or any analytics about how you use the app.
## 2. Data Stored on Your Device
MedChime stores the following data locally in its private app storage, which is not accessible to other apps: your medication list and schedules; dose log history; reminder settings; and your app preferences. This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly export a backup file.
## 3. Backups
When you use Export Data, MedChime creates an encrypted backup file (AES-256-GCM) which you save to a location you choose (your own device storage, a USB drive, your personal cloud storage, etc.). We never receive this file. You are responsible for the security of your backup files.
## 4. Google Play Billing
If you purchase MedChime Pro, the transaction is processed by Google Play Billing. Google may collect billing information in accordance with its own privacy policy. MedChime receives only a confirmation of your purchase status — no payment details or personal information are transmitted to us.
## 5. Permissions We Use
– **Notifications** — To send medication reminders
– **Vibration** — To vibrate when a reminder fires
– **Boot Completed** — To reschedule reminders after your phone restarts
– **Schedule Exact Alarm** — To deliver reminders at the precise time you set
– **Internet** — Used exclusively for Google Play Billing. Your medication data is never transmitted.
We do not request: location, camera, contacts, microphone, or storage access beyond the app’s private sandbox.
## 6. Website
The medchime.com website may use standard web hosting logs (IP address, page views) for security and performance purposes. We do not use advertising trackers or share website visitor data with third parties.
## 7. Children
MedChime is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
## 8. Changes
If we make material changes to this policy, we will notify you in the app.
