We started MedChime because we were frustrated.
Like millions of people, we needed help remembering to take daily medications. So we downloaded the most popular apps. And we were disappointed.
One app limited us to just 2 medications for free — then wanted £40 a year to track more. When you’re taking 5, 6, or 10 medications for chronic conditions, that 2-medication limit feels like a slap in the face.
Another app was “free” but cluttered with ads and confusing features. It wanted access to our location, contacts, and health data. Why does a pill reminder need to know where I am?
We asked ourselves: Why is this so hard?
Reminding someone to take their medication is not a complex problem. It doesn’t require cloud servers or machine learning or pharmaceutical partnerships. It just requires:
